Governance

TAC is governed by a volunteer board of directors

Governance

The T’akhu Á Tlén Conservancy is managed by a Board of Directors, appointed from the 7 Members, consisting of 4 First Nation Members; and 3 Conservation Association Members.  A Joint Clan Meeting of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation, by Joint Clan Resolution, designates four persons to be the First Nation Members. Association Member vacancies are filled by the Appointing Bodies (TIDES Canada and Round River Conservation Studies) or by simple majority vote of the Association Members. Quorum requires at least two First Nation Members and one Association Member.

The T’akhu Á Tlén Conservancy is distinct from the Taku River Tlingit First Nation government. The T’akhu Á Tlén Conservancy provides support to the Taku River Tlingit First Nation as a productive collaboration to mutually advance common goals, while respecting the independent governance authority and responsibilities of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation.
